Dorking Refugee Support is an informal group of local residents trying to support refugees and asylum seekers in Dorking and across Mole Valley and beyond our borders. The group first formed in the summer of 2015 and several volunteers in the team gained knowledge and experience of various aspects of the refugee crisis. We support refugees and asylum seekers in Dorking and across Mole Valley where we are able, offering practical support and helping them integrate into the community. We work with other refugee charities in the UK and more locally in Surrey. These have included Rock For Refugees, Anaya Aid, Epsom Relief Network, Refugees Welcome in Surrey, and The Epsom and Ewell Refugee Network and now Guidlford Refugee Aid, part of the For Refugees network. We also work to raise awareness of the issues affecting refugees and asylum seekers.
