Here is a message from DRS supporter Jasmine, who helped us by offering free lessons here in Dorking before her present trip to Lebanon. If you can help her with her fundraising project, please do! I have spent the last six weeks volunteering teaching English with an organisation called MAPS, who is working in Lebanon with Syrian refugee children and adults who no one else is helping. They provide essential services including healthcare, emergency aid, and education. I witnessed suffering and hardship which I think is unimaginable to a lot of us who are lucky enough to live in the West, and yet these children and adults still have hope, and are working desperately to improve their situation. MAPS helps their children to achieve this by providing education to children who would otherwise recieve no schooling. Heartbreakingly, funding to help Syrian refugees is being reduced rapidly, and MAPS currently doesn't have enough funding to carry on this essential work. Below is a link to their fundraising page and I urge you to donate to all this amazing charity to continue to provide education to desperate children.
